Mexican Painter, 1907-1954
Frida Kahlo born July 6, 1907 in the town of Coyoacán in Mexico, Frida Kahlo survived many difficult events in her life, including contracting polio as a child, a long recovery from a serious car accident, two failed marriages, and several miscarriages.
She used these experiences, combined with strong Mexican and Native American cultural influences, to create highly personal paintings. Frida used personal symbolism mixed with Surrealism to express her experience of love, life, pain and death through her work.

Frida Kahlo painted self portraits because she often felt alone.
Came across Frida Kahlo Printed T-shirt in Zara £17.99.
Which one should I buy?

ReplyDeleteLOL, very cute and interesting pictures, I watched her movie before but to be honest I'm not into her painting I found it too depressing maybe base on her life, I'm more to Auguste Renoir paintings but the T'shirt of Frida Kahlo self portrait is really cute, love it!!! ^_^

Great post, I love inspiring women. I really like the black and white tee but that's because I am not the biggest fan of color but that image has a sense of nostalgia to me.
ReplyDeleteDearest,

@ Love Joice: Agree! She lead a life with a lot of depressing moments. Its so amazing that she expressed herself and what she was going through in her paintings..it probably kept her sain or balanced. Im glad you like our take on her work, we thought it would be great to put a modern twist on it and brighten it up as a tribute, cant wait to see your new post! :-)xxx
